I stared so hard that everything around her head started to go black, so there was no other choice but to move. I looked down for a brief instant, and I believe my hand touched my pencil, as well.

I was immediately sent to the corner. And I was one of the "good" students.

Singing different words to a song... I shudder to think what she would have done! Glenn, there were no lawsuits back in our day to protect us, so yes, you lucked out!Amy Phillipshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08507991317076642201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5712393967576531341.post-47424869483954581962011-02-07T16:49:54.021-05:002011-02-07T16:49:54.021-05:00I came |this close| to going to Catholic school in...I came |this close| to going to Catholic school in 2nd grade, but I stuck with public. She went to grade school in Grenada with a bunch of British nuns who told her Americans were to blame for the long World War. She says she used to stand stalwart and sing "My Country Tis of Thee" while everyone else sang "God Save the Queen" (the tunes are the same). However, she did learn tie a good necktie, a skill she still occasinally uses now.Kimberly Long Cockrofthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12643647548457841480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5712393967576531341.post-2866850243847098952011-02-04T16:17:16.001-05:002011-02-04T16:17:16.001-05:00"Nuns fascinate me--my experience with them m..."Nuns fascinate me--my experience with them makes me think of them as great powerhouses, no-nonsense but full of life."

You definitely didn't go to Catholic school.Amy Phillipshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08507991317076642201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5712393967576531341.post-47356315109624535382011-02-04T14:14:23.815-05:002011-02-04T14:14:23.815-05:00Oh, I definitely think angels sing in good dessert...Oh, I definitely think angels sing in good desserts.

I can't believe you swiped a book.

Nuns fascinate me--my experience with them makes me think of them as great powerhouses, no-nonsense but full of life. I guess for the sisters at that particular convent, the sort of energy I'm talking about wasn't being derived from the food. Jello salads? I thought that was more a Baptist thing.Kimberly Long Cockrofthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12643647548457841480noreply@blogger.com
