Dixie Cup Combos

D-Mom Amy is away, so Greg (Dad-D) is taking the liberty of guest posting.

Today was Theo's last day of school, and he wanted something special for dessert. Fair enough. He explained in great detail his recipe for "Dixie Cup Combos." (The detail mostly centered on whether the chocolate syrup should go on the bottom or top of the marshmallow.) And now, dear readers, I share it with you:

INGREDIENTS:
1 Marshmallow (5.5 carbs)
1 TB Chocolate syrup (10 carbs)
6 Chocolate chips (2 carbs)
1 Dixie Cup (0 carbs)

DIRECTIONS:
1. Put marshmallow dixie cup.
2. Pour chocolate syrup on top of marshmallow.
3. Place chocolate chips on top.
4. Eat.
5. Wash face.

That, my friends, is one insulin unit of pure joy.

  1. I was under the mistaken impression that everything stops while I'm away; I'm very glad to be proven otherwise! As for the food here at my conference, I had pasta primavera that was labelled "cheeseburger."

Nice recipe, Theo. as for you, Greg, you know what I'm going to say: a FORK with a CUP?!???

  2. The child had not only a recipe, but a preferred utensil. You take it up with him. (And to tell you the truth, it was quite satisfying to stab the marshmallow, bite a bit of it, then swish it around in the chocolate syrup in the bottom of the cup.)

  3. Hi Amy,

I was wondering if you accepted any guest posting on your site. I couldn’t manage to find your email on the site. If you could get a hold of me at jeff@drugwatch.com, I would greatly appreciate it!

    Thanks,
    -Jeff

  4. Thanks for the post on my site, Amy.

That receipe sounds good and just enough to satisfy a sweet tooth. I'm a type 2 diabetic, but my taste for sweets didn't disappear with the diagnosis!

  5. Nor does it need to! Everything in moderation. If I'm remembering correctly, Theo initially invented this prior to diagnosis--he wanted to sell them streetside!
