Today is my son's tenth birthday, ten years since I became a mom,

and I decided to spend it this way:

It was totally worth joining the ADFPF (American Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation)

I should point out that I didn't spend the whole of my son's birthday benching on a beach; he was thoroughly honored and celebrated throughout the entire day. But I appreciated the way he shared the spotlight for part of the morning.
